Spam, spam, spam
... but alas not of the Monty Python variety. Today our site has been attacked by evil, hateful spammers posting over 300 messages in a short time. In addition to messing with our carefully crafted site aesthetic (ahem!) such attacks place unreasonable demands on our server. Worse still, they risk damaging our site's hard-earned search engine rankings by overwhelming the site with junk content. We hate spammers!!!
Having deleted the offending (and offensive) content I have activated aggressive anti-spam protection on this site. This is very clever software that uses artificial intelligence to spot probable spam while it is being posted. Unfortunately there will be a slight performance impact due to the extra processing required. Hopefully, this will not be too noticeable for legitimate users. Meanwhile I will gradually ease the spam restrictions until I find a happy medium between protection and use ability.
We are committed to keeping bigininamerica.net as open and accessible to our community as possible. If you have trouble posting content to the site, your content may be being flagged as potential spam. If this is the case you should receive a notification by e-mail. Please let me know if this happens to you so I can approve your posting and help you not get caught by the spam filters.
